What Does Being a Man Really Mean?

What is a man? I pondered this question on my way home last night and began to think about the many definitions of a man. So I decided to ask all of you what was your definition of a man? We all know to many boys living in mens bodies and some of us are raising boys that we hope grow into men but what does that really mean, "Grow into men?" For me a man is someone who has the courage to do what needs to be done whether it scares him or not. He takes care of his responsibilities and is willing to step up to help take care of others when it's not his responsibility to do so. He is courageous enough to express his soft side around anyone even though some times society may say it's not cool. Real men learn how to do housework so that they can carry their weight in the family. This makes them great role models for the generations to come. They except responsibility for their actions and apologizes when their wrong. They except change and welcomes it because they understand that we all must evolve to become the people we are meant to be. And finally a true man takes care of himself instead of expecting others to take care of him. He is independent, self sufficient, courageous, strong and selfless.

Are you victim or a victor?

Are you a victim or a victor? What's the difference you might ask. A victim blames and a victor learns. I've allowed myself to be a victim for brief moments in time in my life but I never stay there for very long. Ultimately I'm a victor. I learn from every experience and work to overcome them. Now that I'm older I look for the lesson as the situation is going on. Before it would smack me in the head after the fact. It's important to learn from your experiences and allow them to make you grow. Bad situations are what you make of them. There is no situation you can't turn around. You just have to be willing to open up your heart and mind to the possibilities of a positive outcome. Does this take work? Absolutely, but if you can master this ability it is so worth it. Imagine how good it would feel to not feel so awful about the non-positive situations in your life. These situations let you know you are alive and make you strong. Try finding the lesson in your next non-positive situation. See if you can turn it into a positive situation. See if you can smile your way thru it and if you can enjoy how great it felt to defeat the non-positive energy that was working to get you down. What are your thoughts? Have you heard this before? Do you agree or disagree?
